Access to Action provides individuals who haven鈥檛 traditionally had pathways into the entertainment industry with access to below-the-line jobs on 海角社区国产精伦 film and television productions.

Operating across the U.S. and Canada, Access to Action fosters an emerging production workforce that aligns with our commitments to diversity, equity and inclusion and the communities in which we film.

Recent production placements include All American, Blue Beetle, The Last of Us, Euphoria, Gossip Girl, Shazam, Succession, and The Gilded Age.

How Access to Action Works

Candidates are sourced exclusively from local non-profit, government, educational institutions, and vocational training programs.

All candidates receive a two-day virtual production training. Those who demonstrate discernible interest are invited to apply to Access to Action.

U.S. IATSE Internship

In 2019, Access to Action and IATSE partnered to create a new entry-level pathway into Local 80 (Grip), Local 600 (Camera) and Local 728 (Set Lighting).

Through this unique agreement, candidates are placed in 60-day internships in the grip, camera or set lighting department, where they can perform hands-on work.

After 60 days, the intern enters into an entry-level union position for 30 days to acquire their required days for roster eligibility.

Skills Training

Beyond on set placements, Access to Action provides below-the-line training from industry professionals in a safe learning environment.

In 2024, Access to Action partnered with Brooklyn-based non-profit Reel Works to offer a four-week camera loader training program, delivered by the International Cinematographers Guild.

Access to Action Canada candidates participated in the MBS Illumination Grip & Electric Training Program, receiving comprehensive instruction on grip and lighting from working industry professionals and deepening their knowledge of on-set work.

In November 2023, Access to Action supported NOVAC and Local 478 Art Department in New Orleans on a free two-week script and set building training based on the 海角社区国产精伦. TV show The Winchesters.

As part of Access to Action Canada, participants in the Aldergrove, BC mock-set training initiative had the opportunity to test their skills and knowledge of lighting and grip equipment in a mock scenario to help develop their confidence on set.
